Barca di Venetia per Padova (The Boat from Venice to Padua)
By Adriano Banchieri (1568-1634)
In Renaissance Venice a group of travelers ride the canal boat from Venice and Padua.  Fisherman and fishmongers ply their trade, Orazio and Rizzolina flirt madly, the passengers make fun, tell stories and sing madrigals to pass the time…

Jukebox in the Tavern of Love: A Modern Madrigal Comedy
By Eric Salzman and Valeria Vasilevski
An electrical storm, a black-out.  Five wet and bedraggled New Yorkers seek shelter in a bar.  The bartender lights candles and welcomes his eccentric visitors--a nun, a dancer, a rabbi, a poet , and a Con Ed worker--who spill the surprising stories of their lives.

Bar La Barca is made possible with the support of the New York State Music Fund, the Argosy Foundation, the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs, and NYSCA.
